Starting off with a lock in picturesque Söderköping, we follow the canal to Tegelbruket lock. The lock, also known as Nyqvisten’s lock, has a drop of 2.3 meters and is a single lock. We pass through and continue to the final lock of Göta Canal, Mem lock. Here the canal was officially inaugurated when the royal yacht “Esplendian” went through the lock. M/S Athene takes you through this inaugural lock and out onto the Slätbaken inlet before returning to Söderköping.

Similar to the inaugural journey from Söderköping to Mem in 1832, on this Little Lock Tour, you’ll experience what it’s like to cruise along the canal and lock. During this three-hour journey, you’ll be guided through the beautiful surroundings while enjoying a summer lunch and refreshing drinks onboard if desired.
